Dan Schmitz,

CFP®, AIF®, CLTC Wealth Advisor, RJFS Founder, OFS

I firmly believe in demystifying financial planning jargon and concepts, making them not only understandable but actionable. Whether I’m translating your dreams for the future into retirement plans, managing investments or crafting tax-efficient wealth accumulation strategies, my focus is always on my clients and empowering them to feel confident in their
financial decision-making. Your long-term goals and retirement aspirations deserve a clear and focused strategy that puts you in control.

At OakWood Financial Services, we believe that our differentiator lies in the profound personal connections we cultivate with our clients. We prioritize building mutual trust by actively listening to your goals and providing the necessary guidance to help you make informed financial decisions. Since its inception in 1999, OakWood has operated as an independent practice , dedicated solely to delivering tailored financial planning solutions based on what’s best for you.

My wife and I enthusiastically embrace the joy and challenges of raising our four children. When not working, I’m on the sidelines cheering at their games or playing Uber/ATM Dad. I enjoy outdoor activities, like hockey and golf, and I’m a fan of country concerts in the summer.

The Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisors 2026 ranking, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. This ranking is based upon the period from 6/30/2024 to 6/30/2025 and was released on 4/7/2026. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of seven years of experience, and the algorithm weighs factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Out of approximately 52,043 nominations, roughly 11,302 advisors received the award. This ranking is not indicative of an advisor's future performance, is not an endorsement, and may not be representative of individual clients' experience. Neither Raymond James nor any of its Financial Advisors or RIA firms pay a fee in exchange for this award/rating. Compensation provided for using the rating. The 2026 Women’s Choice Award® is issued by the Women’s Choice Award based on a 17-point qualification and verification process. Advisors are evaluated on factors including providing quality service to women clients, such as educational and professional credentials, experience, and a favorable regulatory history, among other factors, including letters of validation and professional background checks. Approximately 50–100 advisors are reviewed annually, and approximately 75–90% of those who submit a qualification survey are verified. Nominations and the award is determined on a rolling basis throughout the year and is based on information that is generally current, with certain criteria reviewing activity over the prior three to ten years. Raymond James nor any of its Financial Advisors pay a fee in exchange for this award/rating. Advisors who qualify have the option to license the award seal and related marketing materials for a fee. Raymond James is not affiliated with Women's Choice.
