We see the necessity of specialized planning for women first-hand and feel passionately that women deserve financial advice tailored to their individual situation. At almost every turn, women are faced with obstacles that continue to widen the wealth gap such as lower wages, loss of earnings due to caregiving, and frankly just living longer. At OakWood, we continue to build on our commitment to serving women in every aspect – from educational programs to adding female advisors.
Creating a Community Together
Women need to – collectively and deliberately – talk more about finances and the unique circumstances they face among a whirlwind of competing responsibilities. We started OakWood Women’s Leaders (OWLs) with the goal of building a community of women eager to share knowledge and empower others to take steps towards closing the wealth gap. More than half of all women say they do not have a financial role model and our hope is, as financially savvy women, you can help by leading the way.

OWLs is a great opportunity for our clients to connect and learn more about financial planning and investing while having a good time. Our group tours local attractions, learns about topics of interest, and finds ways to give back to the community.
